Security

Your safety is our highest priority — and it depends on all of us pulling together

🚔 Our Biggest Priority

We have a 24-hour dedicated security vehicle — and we need your help to keep it.

Your Residents' Association funds a dedicated security vehicle that patrols our streets around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is not a shared service or a token drive-past — it is a vehicle assigned exclusively to our neighbourhood, responding to incidents, deterring criminal activity, and giving residents peace of mind at 2am when it matters most.

That level of protection costs real money. And right now, only a small fraction of households in this area contribute to it. A handful of committed residents are effectively subsidising the safety of an entire neighbourhood — including many who haven't yet joined. That is neither fair nor sustainable.

The more members we have, the more we can do: better response times, extended patrols, additional cameras, and a stronger deterrent effect across every street. Every household that joins makes the vehicle — and every resident in the area — safer.

Emergency: Always call SAPS on 10111 first in a life-threatening situation.

What Your Membership Funds

🕐 Around-the-clock patrols

Our dedicated vehicle is on the road day and night — not on a roster shared with other suburbs, not reactive only. It is here, specifically for us, at all hours.

⚡ Rapid armed response

When you or a neighbour triggers an alarm or reports suspicious activity, the vehicle responds immediately — it doesn't have to travel across the city first.

🔍 Active crime deterrence

A visible, consistent patrol presence is one of the most effective deterrents against opportunistic crime. Criminals actively avoid streets they know are watched.

📡 WhatsApp security network

Members get access to our verified community WhatsApp group, where security sightings, incidents, and alerts are shared in real time — keeping every resident informed.

Why every non-member household is a problem — and why yours can be the solution

Here is the uncomfortable truth: if you live on one of our streets and benefit from the security vehicle's presence, but haven't joined the RA, you are effectively receiving a service paid for entirely by your neighbours. We don't say this to shame anyone — most people simply haven't thought about it in those terms.

What we do say is this: the vehicle's effectiveness scales directly with the number of contributing members. More members means more funding. More funding means longer hours, more vehicles, better equipment, and a dramatically stronger security presence across the entire area.

At just R1200.00 per year — less than R100 a month — your membership doesn't just benefit you. It makes the whole street safer for every family on it.

How to Report an Incident

  1. 1

    In a life-threatening emergency

Call SAPS on 10111 immediately. Do not wait.

  2. 2

    Contact the security control room

The control room number is provided to all registered members. This dispatches the dedicated vehicle to your location.

  3. 3

    Alert the community WhatsApp group

Share relevant information (suspect description, vehicle, location) to warn neighbours and keep everyone aware.

  4. 4

    Report to the RA committee

Use our contact form so the committee is notified. Patterns of incidents help us direct patrols more effectively.

Your neighbourhood needs you.

The security vehicle is already out there, working every single night. Whether you join or not, it will still be patrolling your street. But it could do so much more — cover more ground, respond faster, and deter more crime — if every household contributed their fair share.
